How to cook Sweet and Sour Chicken

Sweet and sour is an inclusive dish that mixes many styles of sauce, cuisine and cooking methods. It is usually cooked in Asia. Do give this recipe a try and let us know in comments how you like the recipe.

Here's what you need:
- 2 lbs of Boneless Chicken (Breast and Thigh mix)
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Pepper
- 1 tbsp Soya Sauce

Mix and Marinate chicken in fridge for 30-45 minutes.

- 5 tbsp All Purpose Flour
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1/2 tbsp Baking Powder
- 1 tp Salt
- 1 tp Pepper
- 200 ml Water
- 1 Egg White
- Cooking Oil (Canola or Olive)

Make a thick paste with no chunks. Dip chicken from fridge into the mix and fry your chicken on medium heat for 5-7 minutes (Cooking on high heat will burn your chicken from the outside and leave the inside uncooked)

Optional: Double fry your chicken if you want it extra crispy

- 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
- Diced Onions
- Diced Bell Peppers
- Canned Pineapples (5-10)
- Pineapple Juice
Stir for 60 seconds

Let's make the gravy now

- 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
- 3 tbsp Vinegar
- 1 tbsp Soya Sauce
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 250 ml Water

- Mix the gravy well for 2 minutes
- Add the gravy to the pan with vegetables (Bell Peppers, Onions and Pineapple)
- Add 2 more tbsp of Honey
- Stir on low heat for 2-3 minutes
- Add the Fried Chicken and stir slowly until Chicken is red/orange

Eat with white rice or Fried Rice!
